Description

A Vulcanized Timing Belt Built for VFFS Film Draw-Down

On a vertical form-fill-seal machine the belt does not only transmit motion. It decides where the film stops, so it decides where the seal lands and how much film ends up as scrap.

We build this belt as one seamless vulcanized loop with a controlled 3.00 mm target thickness, then slit, cover and machine it to your drawing. No splice, no weak point, no thickness step to upset registration.

  • Seamless endless loop vulcanized in the mould, not joined afterwards
  • Thickness held to target so the belt sits flat on the pulley
  • Rubber covering in the compound, colour and hardness your product needs
  • Drilled, slotted, cleated or ground to match your existing pulley

Why the Wrong Belt Costs More Than the Belt Itself

Most buyers compare belts by price per piece. Packaging lines pay for belts in a different currency: downtime, scrap, and operator time spent re-adjusting. These are the four failures we are asked to fix most often.

Slippage under load

Film draw-down loses registration, the seal lands off-centre and the jaw crushes product instead of sealing it.

Joint cracking

A spliced belt opens at the joint, delaminates under tension and fails long before the rubber itself is worn.

Size mismatch

Width or pitch tolerance off by a fraction is enough to make the belt track off the pulley and wear the flange.

Unplanned stoppages

Premature wear forces an extra changeover. One hour of lost line output usually costs more than the whole belt order.

What You Get From This Belt

Six properties that decide whether a belt holds registration on a vertical packaging line, or slowly drifts until the operator re-adjusts it every shift.

Core features of vulcanized timing belts: thickness accuracy, seamless joint and machining

Seamless vulcanized structure

The loop is formed in the mould. There is no joint to open up under tension, which is where most endless belts fail first.

Accurate thickness control

Target 3.00 mm with controlled deviation, so the belt seats evenly and transmission stays consistent from start to stop.

Custom rubber covering

Compound, colour and hardness selected for grip and product release, not pulled off a standard shelf.

High-strength tensile core

Cord selected for your load and elongation requirement, so the belt does not creep out of registration over time.

Precision machining

Clean holes and smooth edges for consistent mounting, instead of uneven holes that tear at the fasteners.

RoHS compliant

Compliance documentation supplied with the order for your incoming quality records.

Seamless Vulcanized Structure vs. Visible Joint Connection

The joint is where a conventional endless belt fails first. We build the loop in the mould instead of closing it afterwards, so there is nothing to open up.

Our vulcanized belt

  1. Seamless vulcanized structure
  2. No joint cracking
  3. Strong and durable
  4. Longer service life

Typical spliced belt

  1. Visible joint connection
  2. Rough joint workmanship
  3. Easy to crack or delaminate
  4. Shorter service life

Where This Belt Runs

Typical stations on vertical packaging and bagging equipment where a seamless endless belt is specified.

VFFS film draw-down

Pulls the film down over the forming tube; the belt determines bag length accuracy.

Vertical sealing jaw drive

Synchronises jaw movement so the cross seal lands square on the bag.

Sachet and stick pack lines

Small-format packaging where registration tolerance is measured in fractions of a millimetre.

Pillow pack machines

Continuous vertical bagging for snacks, granules and powders.

Weigher discharge transfer

Carries product from the multihead weigher into the forming tube without spillage.

Date coding and labelling feed

Holds the pack steady while the coder or labeller applies the mark.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you match a belt I already have on the machine?

Yes. Send the sample, a drawing or the pulley data. We confirm the structure, compound and tolerances before production so the replacement fits on the first try.

What thickness do you supply?

Our standard target is 3.00 mm. Other thicknesses are made to your drawing or sample.

Do you make custom widths and lengths?

Yes. Width is slit to drawing or sample, and endless length is calculated from your drawing or the pulley centre distance.

Is the belt really seamless?

Yes. The loop is vulcanized endless in the mould, so there is no mechanical splice and no joint to crack or delaminate.

How fast can I get an engineering answer?

Technical enquiries are answered within 24 hours, including a recommendation on structure and compound for your application.
